Working Farmer. Master Bee Keeper. Sixth-generation resident of District 8.

Meet Charles.

As a sixth-generation resident of District 8 and a proud East Tennessean, my connections to our community run deep. My family’s roots trace back to 1823 when my great-great-great-grandfather bought the land I now call home.

Running for County Commission is the last thing I ever thought I would do. I hope it is not.

As an educator, I have seen countless ‘Ah ha!’ moments in students, reinforcing my commitment to education. Running a small business in District 8 for 20 years gives me insight into the challenges of providing goods and services to our neighbors.

As a historian, I appreciate Knox County’s rich heritage. Understanding our past is essential for shaping a better future. My expertise in statistics and problem-solving has guided me as a farmer, engineer, and business owner. Operating a tree farm in District 8 helps me understand the unique agricultural needs and opportunities that exist in our district.

By encouraging sustainable practices, we can preserve District 8’s historic rural character and the essence of our community.

DISTRICT 8 IS FOR THE PEOPLE OF DISTRICT 8.

We welcome new people to District 8 who want to enjoy our rural way of life.

We don’t want to replace our backyard gardens or our large and small farm enterprises, with sprawling subdivisions.

The construction of new residential communities can be done without ravaging our farms, forests and waterways.

New communities should provide affordable, environmentally sensitive housing.

District 8 needs businesses that will employ our adult children, well designed transportation facilities, good schools, parks, and shopping places.
